Twelve Men
Ordained as Deacons
Cardinal George ordained 12 men to the Order of Deacon November 1 during ceremonies at the University of St. Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary. This is the last step for these seminarians in their preparation for priesthood. For the next year they will serve as deacons in parishes throughout the Archdiocese.

Chicago, IL (December 2, 2008) – After an 8 p.m. Mass, the annual torch run in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patroness of the Americas, will take place beginning at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, December 11, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1150 North River Road, Des Plaines.

BREAKING THE CYCLE OF POVERTY IN THE
ARCHDIOCESE OF CHICAGO FOR 38 YEARS
Chicago, IL (November 10, 2008) – The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) works to help strengthen families and communities throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago. This important work is made possible by donations from Catholic parishioners who are being asked to be as generous as possible this Thanksgiving season with their financial gifts to the annual CCHD collection the weekend of November 22 and 23. In 2007, ninety-five percent of Archdiocesan parishes participated in the CCHD collection.
